Truffles, cheesecake bites, and fresh raspberries....
We've made a few variations of this cake in the past, but I think this one came out better than anything we've done before.
The cake itself is a can of cherry-pie filling, two eggs, a devil's food cake mix, and some almond extract. By hand mixing the cake batter, the cherries remain intact, as seen in the cross section photo below. The layer-filling is
chocolate mousse made from whipped cream and hot ganache, and icing is straight ganache. We topped it with chocolate shavings and a few fresh raspberries.

I think there should be a law against displaying photos of yummy chocolate things that readers have no ability to access. There's something wrong about that. I would like to collect on a birthday chocolate ganache something or other when we come in Sept. And then you can post all of the photos you want. See, I can be reasonable afterall.
Oooh! I miss your chocolate parties so much! Looks delicious, as usual.
ok, recipe for the ganache please? :)
and filling? :) MUST have that cake!
Those look absolutely delicious. I am now in trouble for a chocolate fix. They look so good!
Man I'm so bummed I missed the annual chocolate party... guess me and Beau will have to continue with our own!
I know, I know, I'm late commenting on the Chocolate Party--but that's because your RSS feed isn't updating in my googlereads account--who knows why. So all this time I thought you were NOT blogging, but you were. Looks like I have some catching up to do.
And: The. Cake. Was. Amazing.
I wish I had some right now.
Right now QB may NOT wish to have any, who knows?
Do you think you can fix the RSS feed thing on your end? Like maybe it's a blogspot thing you can adjust in your dashboard? Hmmm...it's really cramping my googlereads style. ;-)
Just because I love you guys, and want to read your posts (and I'm lazy).
